Hello
I’m Chalmers Richardson III.
I’ve learned that life doesn’t usually fall apart all at once—it happens quietly, over time. Pressure builds. Questions stack up. And most people keep moving forward while carrying more than they ever say out loud.
We Gotta Talk was created for those moments.
This podcast isn’t about pretending to have it all figured out. It’s a space for real conversations about everyday life—leadership, failure, faith, healing, identity, and becoming—without filters or performance. The kind of conversations people often need but rarely make time for.
I’ve spent years walking with people through transitions—watching them rebuild after loss, navigate uncertainty, and wrestle with who they are becoming. I’ve also lived it myself. Growth has taught me that clarity doesn’t come from avoiding hard conversations—it comes from facing them honestly.
While my faith shapes how I see the world, this podcast isn’t about preaching at people. It’s about listening, learning, and telling the truth about what life actually demands of us. Jesus shows up here through compassion, humility, and real-life application—not pressure or perfection.
Each episode invites guests from different backgrounds—leaders, therapists, creatives, pastors, and everyday people—About Me to the table. Not to perform. Not to impress. But to talk. Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is say what’s real.
And when life gets heavy…
we gotta talk.
My Story
Before I ever learned how to lead, I learned how to listen.
I was raised by my great-grandmother, Rena McPlatt, and my grandmother, Gracie McPlatt two women who taught me faith long before I had language for it. Their belief wasn’t loud or performative. It was steady. Lived. Practiced every day in ways that didn’t need an audience. They shaped how I see the world.
From them, I learned that faith shows up in consistency, integrity, and how you treat people when no one is watching. That foundation didn’t make life easy—but it gave me something solid to stand on when life got complicated. As I grew older, responsibility came early. Leadership followed. And like many people, I learned how to function before I learned how to slow down. There were seasons where I was doing what was required, but still asking quiet questions about alignment, purpose, and becoming. Those questions still matter to me.
I don’t believe people need more noise. I believe they need more honesty. I value spaces where people can think out loud, tell the truth, and not feel rushed toward answers they’re not ready for.
That posture—rooted, reflective, and real—is what I bring to every conversation.
